Propaganda

For anyone who still reads this (which is probably no one) I have a hilarious update I wanted to share. Remember when we went to the MASA event and ironically danced in the traditional style of Rikudai Am while MASA photographers took our pictures, and we speculated that they would be used later for propaganda? (If not, just reference the post right before this one - the last post from Israel.) Well, it seems that this prophecy has finally come to fruition.

The picture below was taken at a MASA "Mega-event," just before Netanyahu preached all those ridiculous things to us about making Aliyah. It was the same conference where there were people tabling for some Jewish organization trying to sign people up for Aliyah. They were wearing Nike-inspired t-shirts which said, "Aliyah. Just do it." All I can say is that I'm glad this picture has finally surfaced on the MASA Israel Community facebook page, but I feel a slight pang of dishonesty at the same time. Maybe one day we will be courageous enough to be more than ironic.
